Lakers School is a secondary school in Five Acres area of Coleford, Gloucestershire, England. Alison Elliott is the head teacher, Lakers have announced she will retire at Christmas this year. The school's mission is "Creating success for all through cooperation, challenge and support". ==History== The school opened in 1914 as Five acres school . The school grew steadily as other small secondary schools closed, with students arriving from Joys Green and Lydbrook; to accommodate the extra students the school was largely composed of wooden sheds. Berry Hill grew to become one of the largest secondary modern schools in Gloucestershire. In 1985 re-organisation took place and Lakers School was formed. If you would like to know more look at 'Teacher in the Forest' by D.Keith.Wilks As of May 2014 now displayed on the website, instead of being Lakers School Business and Enterprise College they are now Lakers School-'A member of Better Learning Together, Our Cooperative Trust'. Also recently the letter headers and footers have been changed. More importantly too the mission of Lakers has been changed, it is now 'Creating success for all through cooperation challenge and support'.
